What To Look For In Healthy Mocktails
Many mocktail recipes are juice based and contain a ton of sugar from not only the juice but in soda and simple syrup too. These drinks are not the best for you and your growing babe, and the sugar crash later on is not fun either.
What should you look for in a healthy mocktail recipe?
- Limited sugars
- Minimal ingredients
- A fun accent – think color or fruit slices!
- Use seltzer as a base
- Stevia drops as a natural sweetener (you only need a few drops)
What should you avoid in a pregnancy mocktail?
- Includes added sugars
- Uses juice as the base
- Contains soda, grenadine or simple syrup
