This post is all about the best pregnancy apps.
If there is one thing I did every single day during pregnancy, it was checking my favorite pregnancy app. There are SO many pregnancy stages that you go through in nine months. Plus, I was extremely interested in knowing about all of the baby development happening too.
In this post, I’m going to tell you about the best pregnancy apps that will break down your pregnancy week by week, help you identify symptoms of pregnancy that you might be experiencing and provide you tons of support during pregnancy.
This post is all about the best pregnancy apps.
Best Pregnancy Apps # 1 – The Bump
The Bump is by far one of the best pregnancy apps out there. It’s extremely user friendly and an app I recommend to all of my friends. And let me just tell you, it has a tonnnn of information on it.
On the home screen, you can toggle between a few different options:
- An overview of how big your baby is and updates on the week of pregnancy you’re in
- A planner with suggested appointments to make and a weekly to do list
- Countdown to baby’s arrival / update with how far along you are in pregnancy
The home screen also includes several daily reads for you to check out and a fun daily fact you can check out. There are more articles and resources available on the app too that you can check out.
The Bump app also lets you create a baby registry and manage it through the app. I didn’t use the app for my registry but it’s a really convenient option!
And if I didn’t already love this app, I love it even more after birth because it tracks your baby’s growth and development for the first year of his life. Just like during pregnancy, the app provides weekly updates as well as suggested daily reads.

Best Pregnancy Apps #2 – What To Expect
One of the first gifts I received after announcing I was pregnant was the “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” book. But as the weeks passed, I realized I kept forgetting to read the book…
I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in feeling like I much preferred to have one of the best pregnancy apps on my phone to read about my pregnancy week by week rather than have to read a book.
Don’t get me wrong, I really love to read! But when it comes to pregnancy, I definitely prefer to have an app with tons of up to date info, great visuals and so many more resources than one book alone.
This is one of the best pregnancy apps because it provides a TON of information about:
- Your baby’s weekly development
- Your weekly body changes
- Compares your baby to various fruit and other objects
- Provides the science behind what’s going on
On the home screen, you can view the following:
- How far along in the pregnancy you are
- Daily tip
- Weekly videos
- Popular first trimester topics
- Daily articles
- Common pregnancy symptoms
- Recommended products
- Upcoming tests & screenings
Overall I would highly recommend this pregnancy app! It’s extremely user friendly and provides soo much information about both pregnancy and baby development.

Best Pregnancy App #3 – Ovia Pregnancy
This free pregnancy app lets you track your pregnancy journey, watch your baby grow every week, understand your pregnancy symptoms and read personalized pregnancy tips.
Plus you can read thousands of articles, meet a community of other pregnant women and find clinically backed answers to questions you might have.
The app is pretty customizable and gives you the ability to choose between several baby themes to compare your baby’s growth to: fruits & vegetables, parisian bakery, fun & games or weird-but-cute animals. You can also choose a color for the baby’s hand and foot graphics.
I find this app a little harder to use compared to The Bump and What To Expect (and there are more ads as you can see below). But despite that, it’s still filled with an incredible amount of information about both pregnancy and baby development.
You can find more about Ovia here.
Best Pregnancy Apps #4 – BabyCenter
The BabyCenter pregnancy app allows you to do a lot of similar things to other free pregnancy apps already discussed like and read important pregnancy information. But it does have some pretty cool and different features.
One of the unique features about this pregnancy app is you can watch videos of your baby’s growth week by week. It will either freak you out or you’ll love it!
The app also includes a fun way to take pictures of your bump and add stickers and text to label how far along you are.
BabyCenter has tons of other useful pregnancy tools too. For example, when you get closer to birth, you can utilize the contraction counter to time your contractions and know when it’s time to head to the hospital.
This isn’t one of the best pregnancy apps in my opinion but the videos of your baby’s development is really cool!

Best Pregnancy App #5 – Pregnancy+
This is another popular app that features lifelike interactive images, supportive tools, personalized content, health tracking and overall pretty clear and informative information.
This app is easy to navigate but some of the daily articles seem to be recycled once you get further into pregnancy.
One thing that’s important to know and that’s not mentioned up front is that once you reach 14 weeks or around the end of your first trimester of pregnancy, you will need to pay $4.99 to keep using the app. I understand all apps need to make money somehow but there are plenty of free pregnancy apps that provide excellent information too.
I recommend downloading The Bump, What To Expect or Ovia before Pregnancy+
